LOS ANGELES, CA  [Wednesday Nov.30.2005]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- Green Day, U2 and Paul McCartney are among the latest wave of nominees for the People's Choice Awards.

It's sure to be a tough contest as Green Day battles with U2 and Paul McCartney for the Favorite Tour award. Green Day is also up for Favorite Group, along with Destiny's Child and the Black Eyed Peas.

Other new categories now open for voting include Favorite Movie, Favorite Movie Comedy, Favorite Movie Drama, Favorite Family Movie, Favorite Smile, Favorite Hair and Favorite Look.

As previously reported, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and Faith Hill are nominated in the Favorite Female Performer category, while Usher, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw are up for Favorite Male Performer.

The fan-decided People's Choice Awards airs live on January 10th at 9 pm ET/PT (tape delayed) on CBS. Craig Ferguson from "The Late Late Show" hosts the event.
